Cascada termominerală Clocota. The thermomineral Waterfall Clocota
Dacă aţi ajuns în Geoagiu, înseamnă că vă aflați în partea de nord-est a judeţului Hunedoara, la graniţa cu judeţul Alba. Sunteţi înconjuraţi de dealuri domoale, semi-împădurite, care înconjoară depresiunea formată din ramificaţiile sudice ale Munţilor Metaliferi şi vă aflaţi la o altitudine de puţin peste 200 de metri.
Odată ajunşi aici, fără îndoială, veţi merge la băile termale, veţi vizita vechiul sit „Băile Romane”, Grota Haiducilor, însă noi vă invităm să faceţi şi o scurtă plimbare până la Cascada Clocota.
Cascada este situată pe râul care poartă acelaşi nume, la intrarea în stațiunea Geoagiu-Băi. Apa Clocotei adună toate izvoarele termominerale din zonă. Înaltă de 20 de metri, apa cascadei cade pe straturile geologice, ca o perdea de lumină alburie. Arbori întregi au fost prăbuşiţi, sub permanenta curgere a apei, iar pe peretele de travertin veţi observa o vegetaţie foarte bogată (muşchi şi tot felul de plante curgătoare), iubitoare de apă şi căldură. De altfel, vechiul nume al localităţii era Germisara („germi” = căldură, „sara” = apă, cădere de apă). Curioşii care-şi vor oferi un răgaz să privească natura din jur, ar putea să observe aici mici „bijuterii” vii, salamandre rare, cu un colorit extraordinar, însă foarte timide.
Cum ajungeţi la cascadă:

din centrul stațiunii pe strada Școlii. 15 minute.

pe cărarea care coboară din drumul ce duce spre Geoagiu. Aproximativ 30-40 minute.

Clocota Waterfall: if you arrived in Geoagiu, you are in the northeastern part of Hunedoara County, on the border with Alba County. The warm waterfall is located on the river bearing the same name, at the entrance of the resort of Geoagiu-Băi. Apa The water of Clocota gathers all the thermo-mineral springs in the area. 20 meters high, Clocota Waterfall comes down on geological strata, like a curtain of white light. Whole trees have been washed away, under the constant flow of water, and on the travertine wall you will see a very rich vegetation (moss and all kinds of flowing plants), loving water and heat. The old name of the locality was Germisara ("germ" = heat, "sara" = water, water fall). The curious that who will take a moment to look at the surrounding nature may see small live "jewels", rare salamanders, extraordinary coloured but very shy. :)
How to get to the waterfall:
1. from the center of the resort going on Strada Şcolii (School Street). (15 minutes).
2. on the path that descends from the road that leads to Geoagiu. (30-40 minutes).
