Sunteţi acum pe „Drumul Aurului”. Treptele Romane, aflate în apropierea satului Ruda Brad, pe Valea Musariului, este una dintre cele mai vechi galerii ale minelor de aur din Munţii Apuseni. Locul poartă acest nume pentru că la capătul galeriei subterane, săpată de mineri cu dalta în secolele II – III, se găsesc treptele construite în perioada stăpânirii romane în Dacia.
"Drumul Aurului" presupune un splendid traseu de poveste, care porneşte de la Muzeul Aurului din Brad, un muzeu unic în Europa prin varietatea exponatelor de aur, dar şi a impresionantei colecţii de minerale, continuă pe valea Musariu unde se află „Treptele Romane”. Apoi drumul urcă la Biserica 12 Apostoli din Ruda şi apoi se îndreaptă spre fosta exploatare auriferă Gura Barza.
În perioadele în care este funcţională mocăniţa (cel mai adesea de Crăciun, de Paşte şi de 1 Iunie), turiştii sunt invitaţi să circule cu mocăniţa până la gara din Brad, o altă clădire istorică ce aşteaptă să-şi regăsească splendoarea şi admiratorii.
INFO PLUS: Programul de închidere a minelor din judeţul Hunedoara a implicat închiderea multor galerii. Treptele Romane, unele dintre cele mai vechi mine de aur din Apuseni, ar putea să aibă un destin pe măsura valorii sale: după ce galeria va îndeplini condiţiile de securitate necesare, ele vor fi deschise publicului. Administraţia locală vrea să le pună în valoare şi a cerut companiei INSEMEX Petroşani un studiu, dar experţii au constatat aerajul trebuie îmbunătăţit. De aceea, deocamdată accesul nu este permis.. Administraţia locală are în plan un complex de agrement, care să includă o zonă pentru picnic şi standuri pentru comercianţi, astfel încât Treptele Romane să devină o adevărată atracţie turistică. Deocamdată, din cauza debitului de aeraj, tura de vizitare nu ar putea să dureze mai mult de 15 minute, iar în aceste condiţii „Treptele Romane” vor putea fi vizitate, în medie, de doar 200 de turişti, zilnic.
Deocamdată, dacă vreţi să vizitaţi Treptele Romane, trebuie să ştiţi că veţi putea admira doar foişorul de la intrarea în galerie. Zona este, însă, splendidă, iar şoseaua asfaltată
Cum ajungeţi la Galeriile Romane:
La intrarea în Brad dinspre Deva, trebuie virat către localitatea Ruda Brad. Parcurgeţi satul, iar apoi, pe o şosea îngustă, drumul vă poartă până la Galeriile Romane.

Roman Steps Gallery
You are now on the "Gold Road". The Roman Steps Gallery, near the village of Ruda Brad, on the Musari Valley, is one of the oldest galleries of the gold mines in the Apuseni Mountains. The place bears this name because at the end of the underground gallery, excavated by miners with the chisel in the 2nd-3rd centuries, there are the steps built during Roman ruling in Dacia.
"The Gold Road" involves a splendid story trail, starting from the Brad Gold Museum, a unique museum in Europe, through the variety of gold exhibits and the impressive collections of minerals, continuing on the Musari Valley where the "Roman Steps" . Then the road goes up to the 12th Apostles Church in Ruda and to the former gold mining Gura Barza.
When the steamtrain is operating (most often Christmas, Easter and June 1), tourists are invited to go to the train station in Brad, another historic building waiting to find again it's splendor and admirers.
INFO PLUS: The mine closure program in Hunedoara County involved the closure of many galleries. The Roman Steps, some of the oldest gold mines in the Apuseni Mountains, could have a better destiny, according to its value: once the gallery meets the necessary security conditions, it will be open to the public. The local authorities want to make them visitable, but the experts found the air circulating system must be improved. That is why access is not allowed so far. The local administration has a plan of building a recreational complex that includes a picnic area, Romanian food and souvenir stands, so that the Romanian Steps become a real tourist attraction. For now, because of the air flow, the sightseeing tour could not last for more than 15 minutes, and in these conditions the "Romanian Steps" would be visited, on average, by only 200 tourists daily.
So far, if you want to visit the Romanian Steps, you should know that you will only be able to admire the entrance of the gallery. The area is, however, splendid, and the road is asphalted.
How to get to the Roman Galleries:
At the entrance of Brad from Deva, you must turn to Ruda Brad. Go through the village and then, on a narrow road, the forest will take you up to the Roman Galleries.
